American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.
When you choose a plastic surgeon who has received board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc., you are taking a step to ensure your own safety. All ABPS-certified surgeons have graduated from an accredited medical school and undergone extensive training through an accredited program. Certification is a voluntary process that includes years of residency in all areas of surgery as well as in plastic surgery and multiple exams.
The American Board of Plastic Surgery is one facet of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and while the specialty boards outline specific requirement, all areas of specialty governed by the ABMS generally require
- Graduation from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited residency program in a specialized field
- An unrestricted license to practice medicine
It is the Board’s prerogative to determine the professional, ethical, moral, physical, and mental fitness of any candidate for certification. Candidates must maintain an ethical standing in the profession and moral status in the community acceptable to The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. in conformity with the Board’s Code of Ethics. Moral and ethical practices that do not conform to the Board’s Code of Ethics may result in rejection of an application or in deferral of examination until such matters have been resolved satisfactorily. The Board may deny a candidate the privilege of sitting for an examination or may deny issuance of a certificate if additional disclosures or a recent change in status finds that the candidate no longer meets the general or professional requirements.
When considering plastic surgery, it’s vital to choose a doctor who has undergone board certification. For more information on board-certified plastic surgeon Milind K. Ambe, MD, please contact our office.

Turn the Clock Back
After being chosen by Tamra Judge, one of the Real Housewives of Orange County, for a breast augmentation in Season 3, Dr. Ambe was chosen once again to perform a facelift – except this time on her mother. Tamra and her mother, Sandra Baker, ultimately chose Dr. Ambe due to his reputation as one of the best facelift surgeons in Newport Beach/Orange County and one that specializes in very natural facelift results. After her incredible results last season, Tamra knew that Dr. Ambe would give her mother the perfect “turn the clock back” look she desired.
