This technique has remained popular since it surfaced in 1991 and is used for a quick physical exfoliation. This treatment removes a thin layer of dead skin and any unwanted facial hair. A dramatic change in skin texture and appearance is immediately noticeable.
This treatment helps to free pores of impacted debris. First, dead cellular layers are removed by dermaplaning or by using a papaya-based enzyme facial mask. Next, an alpha hydroxy acid is applied to the skin. Lactic and glycolic acids are naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids (AHs) found in fruits and other foods. AHAs are used in formulations to exfoliate or shed the surface skin. The extent of the exfoliation depends on the type and concentration of the specific acid. When applied a slight stinging sensation may occur but it is only momentary. After the desired level of exfoliation is reached, the solution is neutralized. Lastly, a skin-type-appropriate sun protection factor cream is applied.
This treatment is the pick-me-up you need, revitalizing the skin and refreshing the mind in the process. The process begins with a deep cleaning, using steam and cleansers formulated for your skin type. Next, an esthetician will apply an enzyme mask, use a microdermabrasion cream scrub or perform dermaplaning, depending upon individual needs. If needed, extractions can also be performed. A light chemical exfoliation of an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta hydroxy acid (BHA) is applied momentarily and neutralized immediately. A skin-specific facial mask will be used to assist with your skin’s needs either for hydration, brightening, firming, or nourishment. This mask will be removed after appropriate penetration. Lastly, various skin care formulas will be applied to moisturize, nourish, and protect the skin.
This peel is designed to refine uneven skin texture damaged by environmental factors and skin conditions such as acne. For micropeel patients in Newport Beach, facial rejuvenation is available in two concentrations of salicylic acid, the Micropeel Plus program allows you to tailor your treatment to fit your skin type and long term goals. Salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA), is found naturally in willow bark, winter green leaves, and sweet birch bark. Formulations containing high concentrations of salicylic acid help slough off dead cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process. For approximately one week after this procedure, your skin will undergo the renewal process, shedding its dead outer layer. Depending on your skin you may or may not experience peeling or flaking. If peeling or flaking occurs, it usually begins two to four days following your treatment and lasts for approximately three days. Mild itching or irritation can occur as well.
For uneven, lackluster skin that requires more than basic facial rejuvenation, microdermabrasion offers an exfoliation that smoothes and brightens the skin. This treatment polishes away dead cells using ammonium oxide crystals and a vacuum technique. It is customizable to your needs and tolerance. Microdermabrasion is an effective treatment for acne marks, environmental damage, blemish prone skin, and uneven texture. It can safely be performed on the face, neck, chest, arms, or back of hands. Included in this treatment is a thorough cleansing, extraction of impurities (if needed), an application of a skin specific facial mask, and finishing with medical-grade emulsions and sun protection. Microdermabrasion treatments give the best results in a series, such as one weekly treatment for five consecutive weeks. A micropeel or chemical exfoliant may be added for an enhanced treatment and additional cost.
This treatment is the perfect option for Newport Beach patients who are prone to breakouts. The acne facial is designed to clean out the pores, and remove bacteria that can lead to blemishes. After a warm steam cleaning, your esthetician will assess and extract any impurities before exfoliating with a papaya-based enzyme mask or an alpha or beta hydroxy acid. The last step is applying a calming facial mask.
This treatment replenishes the amount of oxygen that the skin receives leaving it hydrated, brighter, and more youthful. Oxygen facials nourish the skin tissues to build and maintain collagen, reduce fine lines, and protect skin from sun damage, pollution and everyday stress. Our estheticians use pure medical-grade oxygen infused with vitamins via our exclusive PureBlue O2 oxygen machine.
